The Benefits Of Using A Changing Dresser
by: Cathy Mancini
It seems there are so many things you have to buy before
bringing your baby home. A changing dresser should be at the
top of your list.
Are you looking to save a little money on your nursery? Then you
should consider buying a changing dresser. This will eliminate your
having to buy a dresser and changing table separately - and can
easily save you up to a hundred dollars.
A good choice is one that will be a changing table while you
need one, but will easily convert to a dresser-only when the time
comes.
Many people like to do this for reasons other than money. It is
really convenient, and it is one less piece of furniture that they
have to worry about storing or getting rid of.
There are two types of changing dressers that I'm aware of. One
is a changing table that has drawers on the bottom of it.
These are open drawers, and are more like baskets than they are
sliding dresser drawers that close when you push them in. These are
less expensive and are often used for things other than
clothing.
The other type of changing dresser is a bit more expensive. It
looks like a regular dresser underneath, but the top has a changing
pad that can be removed when you are done with it. I prefer this
type. Even though they cost more money, I think they're the best
deal in the long run.
Long after the changing pad is removed, your child will still be
using a great dresser. My daughter has this type of dresser in her
room, though I haven't used it as a changing table for a very long
time.
You would never know it was a changing table at one time, when
you look at it, because it looks like a regular dresser.
You can find a good changing dresser where you buy the other
furniture you need for your nursery. You might also find one at a
yard sale, but you should make sure it is in good condition before
you buy it.
You don’t one that will collapse or fall over when your baby is
on top of it. And you should also make sure it doesn't contain any
lead paint - this is more of a concern with older, used models.
Changing dressers are a great invention. With them, you have
everything you need in one convenient place.
