Discovering New Born Baby Names

by: Jerry Parker

You can easily get lost among all the new born baby names. It's just another one of those things that can become a bit overwhelming at times.

My wife and I had one of the most carefully planned pregnancies that anyone could have. We researched everything carefully. We read books on everything from changing diapers to raising a toddler.

We prepared ourselves for the first few years, at least. We interviewed all our experienced friends, consulted experts, prepared the nursery, and even played classical music to our kid in the womb. One thing we could not agree on or figure out, however, was a newborn baby name.

There were just too many new born baby names to choose from, and both of us wanted a different one. We had decided that this was going to be our only child, so we couldn't compromise and take turns coming up with names for our babies.

We looked up the meanings of names for newborn babies until our heads hurt. We' came up with boys names, girls names, dramatic names, staid names. What it came down to was the fact that we wouldn't be able to decide until after the baby was born.

I don't know why, but somehow this made me feel like a bad father. I knew that newborn baby names were not that big a deal – there is no one perfect name, and you have to go with your instincts.

Nonetheless, I felt like we should have everything, including the baby name, planned out before the baby was actually born. Having to wait to come up with new born baby names seemed like irresponsible parenting.

It was almost like having a kid and not starting a college account – it was something that seemed unwise, something that showed poor planning.

Here is a free resource of good baby names and meanings.

It got to the point that I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown over the new born baby names deadlock. The stress of having my first child was really getting to me. So I went out for a beer with one of my friends and talked it over with him.

He told me that he and his wife encountered the same problem with newborn baby names. I never would have guessed it, to be honest. You see, they are two of the most together people that I know. They plan out literally everything.

They can't get out of bed without making a list of the things that they have to do. To find out that they too had problems with new born baby names was quite encouraging. It showed me that having a new kid is difficult for everyone.
